Trigger Installation Directions

edited by Shooter Solutions

All Work or modifications to any firearm should ALWAYS be performed by a competent, qualified Gunsmith.
Detailed directions included with the trigger include dissassembly.

Fitting Procedure, everything removed from the trigger housing:

  1. Before beggining removal of metal to trigger guard, for avoiding scraping finish off of the trigger guard: Tape the outside of the housing you do not want to scrape paint off with masking tape, drafting tape, or similar type of tape to mask of the area to protect.
  2. You will need to file or equivelant, dremel, emery board finish or the equivelant and/or combination of the three to open up the trigger window
  3. You will need to remove the shelf from both sides of the trigger group housing
  4. Square out the rear trigger window corners for the trigger.
  5. There should be no need to add an overtravel screw to the trigger, as the shape is designed not to overtravel.
  6. There is already an access hole now in the trigger roof of all the triggers to accomodate adjusting the adjustable sear included in the Rimfire Technologies Deluxe Trigger Kit, if is needs tweaked to the housing and re-JB Welded.
  7. The trigger is designed to fit the existing trigger return plunger and spring or it will fit a torsion spring
  8. Fitting of the available torsion spring return kit involves careful drill and tap of the housing for a 10-32 enclosed (only with the torsion spring kit) set screw. The set screw give a place for the free leg of the torsion spring to anchor to.
  9. The hole of the trigger is of factory-size so if you have factory pins, it will fit. If you have oversized pins, then the hole will have to be enlarged for it.
  10. While it is not a "drop in" item, it is designed for both Ruger and aftermarket parts as well as pins.

One of the great features of the design is the colors match the oversized Rimfire Technologies&trad; Magazine Release, as well as barrel shim kit for 77/22 to 10/22, as well as bolt handle and midweight handles for drop-in 17 HM2 Moly-Fusioned&trad; Conversion barrels - once the full system is in place.

Here's an idea for a two-color scheme for the artist: You can "knock off" the anodizing from the sides and polish the sides and protect, yieding silver/colored center pocketing, or painting the pocketing yet a third color, increasing the artistic customization you can do for yourself as a DIY'er, or for your customer's wishes, if you are a gunsmith/gunmaker! This is on purpose customization for builders and enthusiasts alike. Caution! When removing color from a trigger, you will inadvertantly also remove the hardened aluminum surface in that area and expose the non-hardened machined aluminum.

ENJOY your trigger!
