"Splatter Shield"

GE learned that there was no need for chipping hammers even without any form of liquid or powder Splatter Shield.

This is in addition to making welds greater with no removal of mill scale and its anti-rust properties.

4C Welding prep obsoletes old technology for making decorative welds without the annoying splatter bonding to steel.

Reason: If there is no need for the splatter (Completely Conductive Surface Coating) - making no chemical reason for the splatter, since no oxides increase resistance and it survives 2000 degrees F - meaning oxides do not develop at super-heated temperatures since the surface doesn't react and the surface 4C creates IS the surface.

Besides antisplatter, it makes welding better, GE Testing lab table shows.

So don't get old expensive technology when pre-treating the metal is faster and there is NO toxic waste left over!

AND you use LESS rod or wire, if the HEAVY SPLATTER is gone!

For production welding, this means LESS 55 Gallon Drums of excess stuff of hazardous waste - maybe per day!
