Small Engine Treatment
I have used Moly-Fusion (7) on a few small engines over the last few
weeks with very good results.
While performing maint. on equipt. at a local tool & dye shop I had the opportunity to use the latest product in some small engines.
After changing oil & checking the condition of the air cleaners & spark plugs, this opportunity was used to introduce the oil based Moly-Fusion into the intake with the engine at idle.
After about 1/4 oz. was applied the engine was left to idle about %
minutes - then revved up to clear excess M/F from the combustion chamber. The engine was shut down & re-started several times and it was noticably easer to pull through, but the compression pluse was more noticable. Every engine (about 4)started on the 1st. pull. In the past all the engines that this product was used on exibited this property, my own 4 hp. briggs engine (lawnmower) starts on the 1st. pull &
shows almost no metal on the (rare earth) magnet on end of dipstick.
I own a 92 vw jetta diesel with just over 400,128 miles on the
odometer, the camshaft produces a lot of drag at low speed that no oil could
seem to stop (even the best synthetics) so i had used reverup in the oil with
fairly good results & could see the reaction layer on the
cam with the valve cover removed.
Due to the mild timing of this engine(cam) it is difficult to keep the
reaction layer on the top of the cam lobe due to the small radius & the
resulting high unit pressures imposed.
Adding molyfusion to the oil in small amounts has solved this problem
at A very modest cost, I have also introduced a very small amount into each
intake port,(CAUTION HAS TO BE USED ON A DIESEL ENGINE WHEN THIS IS DONE DUE
TO THE VERY SMALL CLEARANCE VOLUME ENCOUNTERED IN AN ENGINE WITH 23 TO 1
This is a good way to treat the top ring & cylinder, it really helps
smoothness & ring sealing on a diesel engine And takes less product to get a
good reaction in this area.
This stuff really works - -- maybe 500K who knows.
