- What is Bluing - Hot and Cold? Shooter Solutions' is more of a Parkerizing in ruggedness then the competition: rather then being too aggressive and ending up with mulitple layers, Shooter Solutions' is "just right" and creates a reaction coating that mimicks the exact color and texture of hot blue on the exact same metal but more rugged. Lacquered it is more rust resistant then hot blue, but is mechanically only 1/2 as strong (like Parkerizing) as hot blue.
