I have used moly fusion to smooth out the slide on a 1911, to reduce the trigger friction in a Hi Power, to smooth out two revolvers, to slick up the bolt on my 10/22 and tonight I applied it to my Savage 93 .17 in a couple of places.
If you have a 93 you know putting the magazine in is sometimes a sticky two handed affair. After treating the magazine and the mag carrier strip and spring mine now clips in and slides on with one hand and very little effort. Huge difference
I also treated my barrel tonight. You have to get it super clean. I cleaned the barrel with Remingtons. Then oiled it. Then ran patches with acetone down the barrel until they came out clean.
Then I applied the moly fusion and let it sit wet for about 20 minutes.
This stuff is not a gimmick. It works great and will give that final slick surface to anything that you want smooth as glass. With repeated cleanings and applications in a barrel the fouling becomes minimal and very easy to clean up.
One of the big advantages is that it just fills in the micro surface of a part and you don't need to worry about ruining the heat treating or hardening like you do when polishing.
