Does this take the place of Instructions, Tips and suggestions?
- No.

I followed the directions and the wood finish didn't dry! - Yes, it will not dry on its own. You must dry it yourself, as it does not contain ANY drying agents! For two reasons:

1. It does not "harden in the bottle" only thickens.
2. The Wood Finish is structurally stronger. This also gives you advantage of choosing the gloss amount easily, and using less of it.

I keep applying applications and it doesn't get any shinier! It is dry to the touch, but it stays dull!! This can be caused by two things:

1. You are not waiting 12 to 24 hours between applications to allow the completed finish to harden.
2. You keep on using the same amount as the original, and are using too much and have to wipe it down with a cloth, etc to get it dry! (You keep doing the same over and over, rather than using progressively much less with each following application.

• Remember your final application media is the final gloss! (It is easy to go from super gloss to satin, but can take much more applications in a row for the reverse to be true).
• It is not like "true oil" or any other finish, so do NOT dry it with Steel Wool! You will have steel wool impregnated into your finish!
• Also, be careful: per the directions, this also contains an amazing bonding agent - so be careful to go SLOW (Reverse directions) on old and antique finishes! Get the technique down (practice) first on "scrap": remember not to practice first on the actual item.
• Most important: Follow the directions carefully. Above are some of the reasons why the chemistry is the way it is. It's versatile characteristics put it in a category all by itself!
• It is not just for guns, antiques, arts 'n crafts, fine instruments, clocks, furniture, but for many wood finishing and wood finish repair/restoration situations.
