Moly-Fusion Testimonials

>Jonathan,

Hello from Indiana. To bring you up to date regarding both your products (Cleaner and Moly). I used the moly in both weapons (1863 Sharps Carbine and a 1855 Harper Ferry). The "55" has a William Large barrel, and I was a little concerned about using the moly in the bore. At Camp Perry during a competitive black powder N-SSA Skirmish both weapons exceeded my expectations. I did not reduce the powder in the Sharps and it fired very tight groups at both the 50 and 100 yards. I >push a 450 gr. bullet with 40 grs. of 3F. There was no key holing by the rounds. In the 55 rifle, I reduced the powder load from 38 grs. of 3F to 32 grs. of 3F. It holds the same sight picture (center hold). It surprised a lot of us that the strike of the bullet remained the same. I feel very confident of going back to 38 grs. of 3F......but, there is really no need. In fact, at 100 yards the groups are tighter than before...! Again, I used moly in both bores with excellent results. I use only Cleaner to clean the bores and the entire weapons after shooting them. Now, for lube in the rings I use Lyman Super Moly Lubricant on all the bullets. The 100 yard musket round is the International bullet and the 50 yard bullet is Lyman's wad cutter (415 grs. while the International tops out at about 465 grs.). So, you can see that I'm pushing very big bullets with medium loads. The operation has become very efficient. In one time event with the 55 rifle I fired 14 times ... the 14th round loaded as easily as the 1st round. Everybody thought I had undersized ... 4thousandths. The bore of the 55 mikes out to .577 ... I size all competitive musket rounds to .576. Moly and Sweetshooter does the rest. I was loading easily, while other shooters after the 7th or 8th round during this specific event were pounding on their ram rods to get the round down the bore! I have used moly on the breach block of the Sharps and during shooting events (timed) the operation of loading is done very easily now! With Camp Perry and Centerburg shoots out of the way ... going to Nationals in Winchester, Va. I'm very happy with your products!

Dear Jonathan,
Sorry for taking so long in getting back to you. All I can say is WOW !!!!
I can't believe the ease in cleaning the firearms with cleaner. I use two patches dipped in general cleaner down the barrel. The first patch that I use is a wet one. I next use a dry patch followed by another solvent soaked one. This one I run through twice and leave the inside of barrel wet to let the Cleaner soak in. I then use both of these patches with cleaner on them to wipe powder residue off the rest of the gun. I did just as you suggested, Moly Fusion first, and then make sure it is clean. I told you before how I treated the barrels with the Moly Fusion. And then cleaner. What a job! Accuracy is up noticeably with the use of both products. It only takes me one-third the time to clean up after a trip to the range. The only fouling in my barrel is powder, there is no copper fouling at all. I don't even use a bronze brush any more!!

Thanks, Roger S.

To: Shootersolutions Dear Jonathan;

I tried Moly Fusion twice after our phone conversation on or about the 25th of June. I did what you told me to do and applied two applications of the Moly Fusion to my pistol barrel. I applied the first coat and something told me I may have done it wrong. I waited a good hour or more and then applied the second application. This time I knew went on right (just a feeling) it looked as if the barrel took on a different color. Off to the range I went to test out Moly Fusion on Sunday 06/28/98. Accuracy seemed to have improved but not that much. I had the feeling that only one treatment of the Moly Fusion had been applied properly. Clean up was somewhat easier but not what you said it would be. I decided then that another application of Moly Fusion was in order. This is how I did it. I ran several clean dry patches throw the barrel with a cleaning rod and jag to heat it up, as you said heat helps the metal ( heat was used on the other two applications as well ). I then sprayed one shot of the Moly Fusion into the chamber of the barrel. I used a cleaning rod with a 22 cal. slotted tip and a 22 caliber cleaning patch to paint the inside of the barrel with the Moly Fusion this worked great. Doing it this way, I had control to coat the entire barrel. Off to the range again on July 05, 1998 to see how Moly Fusion works this time. I know I have treated correctly now. Accuracy has improved greatly. Clean-up was half the time I usually spend on the barrel.
My over all opinion of Moly Fusion - THE STUFF IS GREAT!
Roger
p.s. I treated the feed ramp of the pistol with Moly Fusion as well. By the way, all this work was done on a 45cal. model 1911 Kimber.

Hi Jon,
I used it only on my Hammerli sear/hammer portion. It did make it a little more smooth than before. I'll wait for some other things to use it on. Will let you know later. ED
